Flydubai will restart direct flights between Dubai International Airport and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport starting July 31, restoring a non-stop link between the UAE and Hungary that carries strong commercial weight for both countries.
The route will serve leisure, business and visiting friends and relatives traffic through the peak summer season, giving passengers access to Dubai and the airline's wider network of more than 120 destinations. It also builds on flydubai's steady growth in Budapest since the route first launched in 2021, part of a broader push into Central and Eastern Europe.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer at flydubai, said the Budapest resumption reflects the airline's long term investment in Hungary and the economic and cultural ties between the two nations. He described Budapest as one of flydubai's most strategic European markets.
Jeyhun Efendi, divisional senior vice president of commercial operations and e-commerce at flydubai, said the timing positions the airline well for the busy autumn and winter travel season, opening fresh commercial and tourism opportunities in both markets. He noted the route operates under flydubai's codeshare with Emirates, giving travel agents and customers seamless connections and joint network reach across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia.
The Budapest relaunch follows a string of new route additions for flydubai, including recently launched services to Aleppo in Syria, Bangkok in Thailand and Benghazi in Libya. The airline will expand further on September 23 with the addition of Pokhara in Nepal, continuing its rapid network growth across multiple regions.
