Meta has introduced Meta One, a new subscription service designed to give users, creators, and businesses deeper access to AI tools and enhanced features across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI.

The launch marks the company's most ambitious push yet to monetise its family of apps beyond advertising, while keeping the core experience free for billions of everyday users.

Announced on September 15, 2026, Meta One brings together more than 50 features under a single subscription umbrella, with plans tailored for individuals, creators, and businesses. The company says 15 million subscriptions and trials have already been recorded across its existing single product plans.

What Meta One Offers

Meta One is built around two ideas: more room for self-expression and greater access to AI. Subscribers get expanded usage of Meta's most compute-intensive AI tools, including image and video generation through its Muse models, along with in-app features like Restyle on Instagram.

Meta has been clear that the free experience is not going away. Meta AI and the core functionality of its apps will remain available to all users at no cost. The subscription tiers are aimed at people who want more than what a free service built for a mass audience can reasonably provide.

The service currently spans Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, with plans to extend to Edits and Meta's AI glasses in the future.

Individual And Power User Plans

Meta One builds on single product plans launched earlier this year, namely Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus. These have reportedly shown strong retention and continue to gain new features.

  • Instagram Plus now includes custom DM and Story fonts, alerts when specific people view a Story, and DM previews.
  • Facebook Plus is adding Messenger customisation, expanded Reels insights, and super reactions across Reels and Feed.
  • WhatsApp Plus will soon test chat and media backup storage along with Focus Schedules, a feature that mutes or hides chats on a set schedule.

For users who want a fuller experience, Meta One offers two bundle plans, Core and Premium, which combine the single app features with heavier AI usage. Early testing found that more than half of bundle subscribers engaged with both AI and expression features, with tools like Restyle and voice effects cited as leading reasons for subscribing.

Plans Built For Creators and Businesses

Meta is also targeting creators and business owners who rely on its platforms to manage an audience or run a company without switching to separate tools. Meta One folds professional features directly into the apps they already use.

New additions include an enhanced profile that highlights a website, locations and customer feedback, a more prominent follow button on Reels, and automatic follow invitations for people who engage with content. Business users also get expanded access to Meta Business Agent, allowing round the clock responses to customer queries.

Meta says it will continue adding features and AI agent skills aimed at small businesses and creators, covering marketing, operations, and content creation. Among the additions planned is Edits Plus, which will offer extra cloud storage for syncing projects across devices and expanded access to an upcoming Edits assistant that helps analyse Instagram insights and generate content ideas.
