Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has teamed up with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation to run a specialised workshop aimed at sharpening innovation and future foresight skills across its teams.

The initiative falls under RTA's Strategic Plan 2024-2030 and supports its vision of becoming the world leader in seamless and sustainable mobility. Organisers designed the session to prepare Dubai's mobility ecosystem for future demands while encouraging solutions that raise customer experience and quality of life.

During the workshop participants learned methodologies for designing and operating innovation labs along with tools tied to RTA's strategic focus on integrated and innovative mobility. Experts from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre walked attendees through best practices in managing innovation labs, building organisational capacity and crafting proactive responses to emerging challenges in transport.

Abeer Tahlak, Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, said true innovation depends on sustainable organisational capabilities that help entities adapt to change and turn challenges into opportunities. She noted the partnership with RTA is meant to convert future visions into practical solutions that strengthen the UAE's broader government innovation model.

Fatima Al Mandoos, Director of Innovation and Pioneering at RTA's Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, said the collaboration reflects the authority's commitment to investing in its workforce and building capabilities that support strategic priorities.

Workshop participants also completed the Innovation Tools and Innovation Labs course on the Ibtekr platform, gaining practical grounding to turn what they learned into real initiatives. The effort forms part of a wider push to strengthen Dubai's transport sector competitiveness and reinforce its standing in smart, sustainable mobility.
