The Ministry of Finance recently convened its second session under the "Customer Councils" initiative, a cornerstone of the UAE government's ambitious "Zero Government Bureaucracy" programme.
Chaired by Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, and attended by top officials including Fatima Youssef Al Naqbi, the session drew over 80 representatives from public and private sectors.
Building upon the inaugural council held in April, participants reviewed feedback and challenges voiced by customers. Key topics included enhancing compliance with international financial standards, government procurement, and optimizing ministry services.
The initiative aims to meticulously map ministry procedures, identify inefficiencies, and reduce procedural times by 50%, eliminating redundant conditions. Al Khoori emphasized the program's alignment with UAE Centennial 2071 goals and "We the UAE 2031" vision, underscoring its role in bolstering smart government initiatives since 2013.
The session, themed "Designing solutions in partnership with customers," prioritized customer satisfaction and innovative service models. It included interactive labs and design-thinking sessions within the "Zero Bureaucracy Interactive Lab," fostering collaboration with stakeholders to refine proposals and expedite implementation.
Al Khoori affirmed,
"We are committed to simplifying government procedures and delivering proactive services. The Customer Councils exemplify our dedication to stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement."
Through ongoing dialogue and structured feedback mechanisms, the Ministry aims to enhance service delivery, support economic growth, and foster a conducive business environment across the UAE.
The Customer Councils initiative epitomizes the UAE's proactive approach to governance, promoting transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder collaboration in driving national development goals forward.
