The Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), a pivotal platform for the aviation industry in Dubai, has signed a significant agreement with International Energy Resources (IER) to establish a cutting-edge Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and engine test cell facility at Dubai South.

Spanning 880,000 square feet, the new facility will specialize in manufacturing gas turbine engine components, as well as repairing and overhauling engines. A standout feature will be its unique engine test cell, capable of evaluating both Aero Engines and Aero-Derivative Industrial Engines, with an initial testing capacity of up to 50 engines annually. The facility is slated for completion in two phases by Q4 2026 and Q3 2027.

Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating,

“We are pleased to sign this agreement with IER MRO Industries, which marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enriching our portfolio with key partners that will cement Dubai's position on the global aviation map.”

He emphasized that the new MRO facility reflects MBRAH’s dedication to supporting the evolving needs of the aerospace sector.

Larry J. Howie, Chairman & CEO of IER MRO Industries, highlighted the collaboration’s importance, noting,

“We are thrilled to expand our presence in Dubai and launch this new facility, allowing us to deliver world-class maintenance and repair solutions that meet and exceed the highest standards of quality and efficiency.”

Located within Dubai South, MBRAH is designed to foster the Emirate’s vision of becoming a leading global aviation hub, offering high-level connectivity and serving as a free-zone destination for airlines, private jet companies, and associated industries.
