The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced a reduction of two working hours per day for private sector employees throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry confirmed that companies may implement flexible or remote work arrangements, provided they comply with the reduced daily working hours.

“In accordance with the requirements and nature of their work, companies may apply flexible or remote work patterns within the limits of the daily working hours during Ramadan,”

the statement read.

The decision is in line with Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Labour Relations and its amendments, ensuring that workplaces accommodate the spiritual and physical well-being of employees observing the holy month.

This annual adjustment aims to support work-life balance while maintaining productivity across various industries. The announcement serves as a reminder for private sector companies to adhere to the official guidelines and make necessary arrangements for a smooth transition during Ramadan.
