Parkin Company PJSC, Dubai's largest paid public parking operator, has signed a five-year agreement with Al Ghurair Centre to overhaul parking operations at one of the city's most established retail destinations.

The deal was signed by Parkin CEO Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali and Al Ghurair Property Management CEO Paul Fanning, marking a shift toward a fully digital, ticketless parking system for one of Dubai's busiest shopping and residential hubs.

At the heart of the upgrade is AI-enabled Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology, which will eliminate physical tickets and speed up entry and exit for shoppers, residents, cinema-goers, and visitors. A new camera fitted with an integrated screen will also debut at the centre, offering real-time guidance to drivers.

Visitors will get three hours of free parking, with standard tariffs applying Monday to Saturday and free parking on Sundays and public holidays. Fees can be settled before exiting or within five days through Parkin's digital channels.

Shoppers spending AED 200 or more will earn two extra hours of free parking, as will Star Cinemas ticket holders, both subject to validation at the Customer Service Desk. The agreement also introduces monthly subscription options and dedicated parking arrangements for Al Ghurair Centre Residence and Rawabeh tenants, with access restricted to registered vehicles under valid tenancy contracts.

Eng. Abdelrahman Alshuweihi, Parkin's Director of Operations, said the partnership reflects the company's push to bring smarter, customer-centric mobility solutions to key Dubai destinations, calling the ANPR rollout a step toward reducing congestion and improving accessibility.

Ramy El Shaarawy, VP of Al Ghurair Hospitality & Al Ghurair Centre, said the initiative removes a long-standing friction point in retail, giving visitors back valuable time from the moment they arrive.

Parkin will also handle enforcement and operational management to ensure fair, well-regulated access across the site.
