Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Emirates Parkings have successfully implemented automated procedures for impounded vehicles at Lehbab Yard in Dubai.
The implementation followed a contract signed between the two entities earlier this year. The new system includes a smart QR Code scanning system for receiving and dispatching vehicles, improved reporting mechanisms, streamlined parking processes, and GPS tracking of vehicle locations.
These measures aim to enhance operational efficiency and customer service. Additionally, three joint initiatives were launched to improve services, including vehicle violation detection, a unified platform for inquiries about impounded vehicles, and roadside assistance. The contract allows Emirates Parkings to tow and impound vehicles that violate federal and local rules and regulations. The system is integrated with the traffic and electronic system to facilitate information sharing and fine calculation. It also includes a revamped process for recording and auctioning seized vehicles.
