Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has completed a comprehensive overhaul of its service infrastructure to meet the Dubai Universal Design Code for People of Determination, covering Customer Happiness Centres, service provider centres and public transport stations across the emirate.

The upgrades introduce a full suite of accessibility features, including dedicated ramps for wheelchair users, tactile floor indicators, Braille signage and assistive hearing devices. Automatic doors have been installed and entrances, external corridors and toilet facilities have been upgraded to comply with accessibility requirements.

Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of RTA's Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said the improvements were designed to help People of Determination access services efficiently, comfortably and independently. Queue management systems at Customer Happiness Centres have also been redesigned with heights and spatial layouts tailored to their needs, and dedicated service counters with priority access have been allocated across locations.

The authority has further expanded its digital offering, providing accessible smart services as an alternative to in-person channels.

Beyond infrastructure, RTA strengthened its community engagement through a series of dialogue sessions held in 2025 in collaboration with the Rashid Centre for People of Determination. The initiative continued into 2026 in partnership with the Dubai Club for People of Determination, bringing together individuals, training and rehabilitation centres, students and parents to raise awareness of available services.

The project reflects RTA's broader commitment to inclusion and sustainability, with People of Determination identified as a central priority within the authority's service and community strategy.
