Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has renamed ONPASSIVE Metro Station to Garmin Metro Station under a 10-year naming rights agreement signed with AMIT Retail LLC, Garmin's sole UAE distributor.

The deal was finalized between AMIT Retail and Hypermedia, with Mada Media overseeing the process under its concession agreement with RTA, which manages Dubai's out-of-home advertising sector.

Abdul Mohsen Kalbat, CEO of RTA's Rail Agency, said the addition confirms the initiative's pull with major brands across sectors and ties into RTA's broader push to deepen public-private cooperation, expand investment in transport assets, and support the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). He noted RTA launched the naming rights program in 2009, the first of its kind globally.

Mansoor Al Sabahi, CEO of Mada Media, called Garmin the first global brand to take up this opportunity on the Red Line, calling it a milestone for the initiative.

Clifton Pemble, CEO of Garmin, framed the partnership as an extension of the brand's focus on navigation, fitness, and wellness products that support people's daily lives.

Habib Wehbi, Chairman and Group CEO of Hypermedia, described the naming rights program as turning public infrastructure into a long-term value platform for cities, brands, and commuters, and said Garmin's participation reflects confidence in Dubai's investment climate.

Abdul Aziz Abdulla, GMD of AMIT Retail LLC, said the deal reinforces the company's UAE investment and its role in promoting healthier, more connected lifestyles through Garmin's products.

RTA will phase in the new station name across signage, apps, and audio announcements from September through the end of November 2026, and has asked riders to note the update during the transition.
