Samsung Electronics unveiled its latest home appliance lineup at the global launch event 'Welcome to BESPOKE AI,' held in Seoul, Paris, and New York City. The event highlighted Samsung's vision of enhancing home experiences through connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI) in appliances.
Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, emphasized how AI integration enhances the functionality of home appliances, transforming them into entertainment hubs and control centers. The event showcased the latest Bespoke AI appliances equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, internal cameras, AI chips, and compatibility with the SmartThings application, allowing for enhanced features and connectivity.
The AI Home, a connected 7-inch LCD display added to multiple products, enables intuitive control over the connected ecosystem. It includes features like 3D Map View for easy appliance location and real-time monitoring. Mobile Smart Connect sends alerts to the user's phone when near registered appliances, providing quick control options without the need for a physical remote.
Samsung also introduced 'Calm Onboarding,' simplifying product registration onto the SmartThings app. Additionally, Samsung highlighted its Knox security platform, ensuring user data protection on connected appliances.
The event showcased different product lineups tailored to each market's energy-saving requirements. Key products included the Bespoke French Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub™+, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™ AI, and the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™. These appliances offer advanced features like AI-enhanced cleaning and energy-saving capabilities.
Samsung also announced its plans to implement generative AI in home appliances, enhancing voice assistant capabilities. Bixby, Samsung's voice assistant, will understand complex commands and engage in natural conversations.
Furthermore, Samsung discussed efforts to reduce energy consumption through Smart Forward, providing software updates for connected appliances. Collaborations with partners like British Gas aim to offer economic benefits to users through energy-saving solutions.
Samsung emphasized its commitment to product safety, introducing certifications like reduced fire risk (RFR) certification for new appliances. The collaboration with Disney and Pixar's "Inside Out 2" showcased how the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ alleviates laundry-related stress with AI Bubble™ technology.
