During the UAE Government’s Annual Meeting 2024 in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, honored recipients of the prestigious UAE Order for Culture and Creativity. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the ceremony alongside other prominent officials and leaders.
Sheikh Mansour praised the recipients for their outstanding contributions, highlighting the importance of cultural and creative expression in the UAE’s sustainable development. He remarked that the UAE Order for Culture and Creativity recognizes individuals whose work elevates the UAE’s cultural profile, affirming the nation’s commitment to fostering creativity and intellectualism as part of its developmental goals.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the UAE Order for Culture and Creativity is the nation’s highest cultural honor, celebrating talents who have enriched the UAE’s cultural landscape and strengthened its influence regionally and globally. The award’s design incorporates symbols of Emirati heritage, encouraging creatives to produce works that reflect and advance the UAE’s cultural identity.
His Excellency Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture, emphasized that the UAE Order reinforces the nation’s position as a global cultural hub. He noted that the recognition motivates artists, intellectuals, and creatives to pursue excellence, inspire future generations, and contribute to the sustainability of Emirati culture. By acknowledging these contributions, the UAE amplifies its cultural message to the world.
This year, awards were presented in two categories: ‘Custodian’ and ‘Pioneer.’ Notable recipients in the Custodian category included His Excellency Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage; His Excellency Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President; and Dr. Aisha Bilkhair, Research Advisor at the National Archives. Honorees in the Pioneer category included renowned artist Abdulqader Alrais, singer Mehad Hamad Al Muhairi, and actress Ruzaiqa Taresh Alotaiba.
The UAE Order for Culture and Creativity serves as an extension of the Emirates Appreciation Award for Science, Arts, and Literature, encouraging the UAE’s cultural and creative community to thrive. The annual government meetings also aim to address the UAE’s development plans and priorities, guided by the nation’s leadership to achieve continuous progress across various sectors.
