Last year, someone in the UAE skipped the long lines at Apple stores by using an app to buy the newest iPhone 15 and an Apple Watch Ultra 2. They got it all delivered to their home super fast. This big order, costing $2,042 (Dh7,500), was the most expensive single order on the Careem app's Quik Groceries service.

The multi-service app shared some cool facts about customer trends in 2023.

The biggest buy on the app's DineOut service was a whopping $20,420 (Dh75,000) at an Indian veggie restaurant. A customer got gift boxes for Diwali, the festival of lights, during this huge purchase.

Throughout the year, on Quik, one person made 473 orders, and the fastest delivery took just one minute. Most orders came in between 7 pm and 9 pm, with water and bananas being the most popular items.

Careem shared a fun fact: the bananas ordered in 2023 were as heavy as over 1,000 gorillas! Plus, customers ordered enough water to fill an Olympic swimming pool.

The app saw an 80% rise in people ordering healthy food in the UAE.

Careem Pay's international remittance service saw the last Thursday of the month as the most popular day for sending money to India and Pakistan. The highest amount sent was $76,389 to Pakistan by a single customer. Notably, the fastest remittance transfer took just 16 seconds from the UAE to India.

For rides, the top intercity route was between Dubai and Sharjah. Interestingly, riders in Dubai, Riyadh, and Amman tended to forget items in Careem rides. Some of the unusual items left behind included a bridal dress, a pillow, a ring, and even a hair wig!

Among bike riders, the most active completed 4,357 trips, mainly delivering orders for a JLT restaurant. The second most active rider completed 2,288 trips, primarily for commuting to work.

As for bike rides, the longest journey lasted 5 hours and 38 minutes, with an adventurer exploring the Al Qudra bike track.
