Trakhees, the regulatory arm of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), has completed a sweeping inspection drive across 356 beauty centers and salons in its jurisdiction, recording a compliance rate of 94.11% for the first quarter of 2026.

The campaign, led by the Health and Safety Inspection Section under the Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) Department, assessed establishments against approved health and hygiene standards. Inspectors verified general cleanliness, sterilization procedures, safe use of equipment and products, and adherence to business activity regulations.

Beyond enforcement, the initiative also carried an awareness component, engaging establishment owners and workers on the importance of maintaining proper health practices and ensuring safe conditions for customers.

Eng. Abdulla Mohammed Belhoul, CEO of Trakhees at PCFC, said the results reflect a proactive regulatory system built on strict compliance standards.

"The measures taken against violating establishments are part of a clear policy that does not tolerate any breach of health requirements, regardless of its severity,"

he said.

He added that Trakhees is continuously developing its regulatory capabilities to enable early detection of non-compliant practices and swift corrective action, with the safety of both customers and workers as the primary priority.

The high compliance rate signals growing awareness among personal care businesses operating within PCFC-regulated zones, and reinforces Trakhees' commitment to building a safe, sustainable business environment across the communities it serves.
