The UAE economy is on track to record growth exceeding 5 percent in 2026, driven by robust non-oil sector expansion, progressive legislation, and a globally competitive business environment, according to Economy and Tourism Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri.

Bin Touq said non-oil sectors are projected to grow by more than 5.5 percent this year and are expected to contribute 78 percent of national GDP. He described the outlook as a clear reflection of the UAE’s economic resilience and diversified growth base.

Bin Touq attributed the strong performance to the country’s long-term strategic vision and the continuous modernisation of its economic framework. Over the past few years, more than 40 laws and regulations governing the business ecosystem have been updated to simplify procedures, enhance transparency, and strengthen investor confidence.

He also pointed to the sharp rise in business registrations as evidence of the UAE’s growing appeal as an international investment destination. The number of companies listed in the national economic register has more than doubled, rising from about 650,000 five years ago to over 1.45 million today. Authorities expect this figure to reach two million by 2031.

The minister added that leadership directives to improve ease of doing business, alongside flexible policies such as the Commercial Companies Law, have positioned the UAE as a preferred global hub for family-owned enterprises seeking a base to manage regional and international operations.

Together, these factors, he said, continue to reinforce the UAE’s status as one of the world’s most dynamic and future-ready economies.
