The UAE Government Media Office has launched a guide to help federal communication teams apply agentic AI in their daily work, while insisting that human judgement stays in charge of what reaches the public.

The Guide to Agentic AI Applications for Government Communication Teams was unveiled at the latest Government Communication Network meeting. It forms part of the Office's push to prepare the federal communication ecosystem for rapid advances in artificial intelligence.

Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, said the guide marks a practical step forward. He told attendees that AI does not replace communication professionals but expands their capabilities and frees up time for planning and creative work.

"Professional responsibility and final judgement must remain human,"

he said.

The guide gives teams a unified framework for using agentic AI across research, planning, content development, visual production, media monitoring, analysis and impact measurement. It covers how to choose suitable use cases, write effective prompts and verify outputs, and how the technology can support press releases, talking points and digital content.

Its main areas include responsible use, AI-enabled workflows, prompt development, visual communication, and roles and governance. It also stresses review, verification and institutional approval before publication, and warns of risks linked to accuracy, privacy, bias and misleading content.

The Office also held an Agentic AI in Government Communication workshop with the New Media Academy during the meeting. The programme brought together teams from communication, media relations, monitoring and analysis, and focused on media content and public relations, visual communication and infographics, and monitoring and analysis.

Participants also joined a practical lab to build an AI assistant, defining its purpose, selecting approved knowledge sources, setting tone-of-voice rules and establishing review processes.
