Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, General Manager of the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) and Vice-Chairman of the Asian Racing Federation, highlighted the UAE's significant achievements in this sector, emphasizing the impact of visionary leadership and a supportive environment.
Al Shehhi noted a 16% increase in the number of horse owners and trainers in the UAE from 2019 to 2024 and a 6% rise in financial prizes, reflecting robust growth despite global challenges.
The UAE's modern legislative system ensures high standards of integrity and transparency, contributing to its position as the region's largest horse transport center.
In the past year alone, the UAE facilitated the import and export of over 5,500 horses, marking a 9% increase.
The ARC serves as a key platform for global and regional horse racing experts to address sector challenges and advancements, underscoring the UAE's role in shaping the future of the industry.
