The Ministry of Economy has officially launched the National Economic Registry (NER) – Growth, a unified database aimed at streamlining business operations across the UAE’s seven emirates.
Announced on Tuesday, this platform integrates the procedures and requirements for establishing businesses and conducting economic activities into a single national portal, significantly enhancing government service delivery.
During the launch, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, highlighted the UAE's commitment to innovative solutions under its leadership, stating,
"The ‘Growth’ platform is a remarkable achievement in advancing the national economy. It eliminates bureaucratic hurdles and delivers highly efficient government services, ensuring the UAE offers the best government services globally."
The NER features information on over 2,000 economic activities and offers proactive services for decision-makers, business owners, investors, and research centres. It facilitates inquiries on business licenses, investment opportunities, and market trend studies, supporting business growth through advanced digital management powered by AI technologies.
Bin Touq noted that the NER connects 46 entities nationwide through a unified economic number (ERN), enhancing data integration and reducing paperwork, aligning with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision. The platform will be continuously updated to improve transparency in business performance and bolster the UAE’s global credit rating.
With plans to link the platform with 100 federal and local entities, expand services to 500, and reduce delivery times within two years, the NER marks a significant step in the UAE’s transition to a knowledge-based economy. The launch ceremony included notable figures such as Alia bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship.
