The Federal Youth Authority has launched the National Readiness Programme Ghatareef, a comprehensive 11 month initiative designed to equip recent Emirati secondary school graduates with the skills and values needed to thrive in academic, professional and family life.
Introduced under directives from The Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, the programme bridges the gap between secondary education and the next chapter of a young person's life, whether that path leads to university, employment or starting a family.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Council, described the nation's youth as its greatest asset and said the programme reflects a vision to prepare a generation rooted in strong values and ready to serve the country. H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan added that the initiative builds on values instilled at home and turns them into practical opportunities for growth.
The programme is structured around three main pillars covering defence and artificial intelligence, health and care, and sustainability and vital services. Participants will move through three phases focused on foundational skills, specialised training and hands on practical experience with partner organisations across government, academia and the private sector.
Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said the programme allows graduates to move beyond theory and gain real world exposure to national priority sectors. Hajer Ahmed Al Thehli, Secretary General of the Council, noted that preparing youth today requires linking knowledge with skill and learning with the needs of the future.
Participants will receive a monthly allowance, professional certificates, academic credit hours and future career opportunities.
