The National Media Office (NMO), in collaboration with TRENDS Research and Advisory, unveiled a pivotal study titled "The Role of Media Regulatory Institutions in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges" during the Global Media Congress 2024 in Abu Dhabi.

The research explores the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the media sector, highlighting both opportunities and ethical challenges faced by Arab media institutions amid rapid technological advancements.

Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the NMO and UAE Media Council, underscored the UAE's commitment to fostering a knowledge-based economy through scientific research. He emphasized the strategic importance of integrating media organizations with research institutions to tackle future challenges, enhance public awareness, and support the nation’s developmental goals.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, hailed AI as a transformative force in media, offering smarter tools for content delivery while raising ethical concerns. The study provides insights into leveraging AI to improve media quality while safeguarding human rights and media integrity.

Key focus areas include the ethics of AI use in media, regulatory frameworks, and the evolving role of Arab media institutions.
