Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to deepening economic ties with the United States during high-level business meetings in New York.

Speaking at a UAE-US Business Council roundtable and a US Chamber of Commerce session, Al Zeyoudi highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations, underscoring opportunities to expand collaboration in trade, investment, and technology.

The minister pointed to robust figures reflecting the strength of the relationship. The US ranks as the UAE’s sixth-largest trading partner, with bilateral non-oil trade reaching US$38 billion in 2024, marking a 44.5 percent increase over five years. In the first half of 2025 alone, trade stood at US$19.3 billion, continuing the upward trend.

Al Zeyoudi stressed that the UAE and US share a vision for innovation-driven growth, with joint ventures already reinforcing this alignment. He cited ADQ’s $25 billion partnership with Energy Capital Partners to boost US energy production and Emirates Global Aluminium’s $4 billion investment in building the first new US aluminium smelter in nearly half a century, a project expected to create thousands of American jobs.

Held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the meetings drew prominent US business leaders and policymakers, who echoed the commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. Discussions focused on unlocking new areas of cooperation in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and future technologies.

Al Zeyoudi concluded by emphasising the shared goal of driving global prosperity and sustainability, positioning the UAE-US partnership as a key contributor to economic progress on both sides.
