The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently held the third session of its "Customer Councils" initiative, part of the government's ambitious "Zero Government Bureaucracy" programme.
The initiative aims to engage public and private sector stakeholders in providing feedback on government services, with the goal of simplifying and enhancing bureaucracy to meet evolving needs.
Held in Dubai, the session was attended by Fatima Yousif Alnaqbi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, along with nearly 50 representatives from government entities and the private sector. It also reviewed the outcomes of previous sessions, held in April and July, with a focus on improving the customer experience in areas such as compliance with international financial organisations and government procurement.
Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the MoF, emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing government financial services and fostering collaboration with stakeholders. He reiterated the Ministry's commitment to supporting the UAE's long-term visions, including "We the UAE 2031" and "UAE Centennial 2071."
Al Khoori highlighted that the "Zero Government Bureaucracy" programme, launched in 2023, is aimed at transforming government procedures by cutting at least 2,000 processes and reducing completion times by 50%. This initiative seeks to boost economic growth by promoting a more efficient and business-friendly environment, aligned with the UAE's Smart Government Initiative.
The Ministry's efforts reflect the UAE government's ambition to create a globally recognized model of governance, focusing on innovation, speed, and efficiency in service delivery.
