The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially decommissioned eDAS 1.0, its commercial invoice and certificate of origin attestation system, replacing it with the fully upgraded eDAS 2.0 effective June 8, 2026.
Users of the platform, which handles attestation for commercial invoices and certificates of origin, are now required to transition exclusively to the new version. The ministry has urged all users to adopt eDAS 2.0 without delay.
The upgrade is part of the ministry's broader push to improve customer experience and strengthen its digital infrastructure in line with the UAE's national digital transformation agenda. eDAS 2.0 introduces a more streamlined process, cutting down the number of fields and steps required to access the service while reducing overall processing time and effort.
The move also supports the objectives of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, a government-wide initiative aimed at eliminating unnecessary administrative procedures and making public services faster and more accessible for businesses and individuals alike.
