The United Arab Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Europol to establish a secure communication channel aimed at enhancing cooperation in fighting transnational organised crime.
Signed by the UAE’s Ministry of Interior and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation, the agreement marks a new phase in the strategic partnership between both sides. It focuses on creating a secure technical infrastructure for exchanging security and police information.
The Ministry of Interior described the MoU as a strategic step aligned with the UAE’s commitment to building an integrated, tech-driven security framework through international collaboration. It builds on the broader Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed between the UAE and Europol in September 2016.
Europol welcomed the development, highlighting the importance of close coordination with global partners to strengthen regional and international security efforts.
