The UAE Triathlon Federation (UAETF) has announced the launch of its second league, which will commence in October.
The league is open to participants of all ages and categories. The inaugural race of the 12-event UAE Triathlon League will take place on October 1, 2023, at Abu Dhabi's Hudayriat Island and will conclude in Sharjah in April 2024.
The primary objective of the UAE Triathlon Federation is to promote the triathlon culture in the UAE, identify and nurture national talent, engage youth in the sport, and cultivate a high-level sports generation to represent the country in global championships.
Abdul-Malik Jani, Vice President of the UAE Triathlon Federation, expressed that hosting a regular triathlon championship will attract more talented individuals to the sport. Triathlon is an Olympic sport that features swimming, cycling, and running, with its debut in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
