The fourth day of the largest annual food and beverage sourcing event in the world, Gulfood 2023, takes place today (23rd February) at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
Here are some of the highlights you can expect to see:
The finals of the YouthX competition will take place today over at Top Table:
- At 11am, the Indian team from ITC Hotels and the Thai team from Rosewood Phuket, will battle it out.
- At 2pm, the Mexico team from Rancho Pescadero and the UAE team from Sofitel Obelisk, will battle it out.
- Winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at 4.35pm.
There will also be a series of masterclasses and chef talks taking place throughout the day. These include the below, among others:
- Chef Talks – ‘Advice from a master: Heinz Beck shares his wisdom’. Thembalethu Zulu, Editor - Caterer Middle East, will talk to Heinz Beck, Chef at La Pergola. Forming part of the jury for YouthX, Heinz Beck is a German-born, three-Michelin starred chef and founder of The Order of the Knights of Italian Cuisine. He’ll talk about why recognising young talent is so important for the future of the industry during this session at 3.30pm.
- 20 minute masterclass by Sadia, where Chef Ali Sayed will be presenting modern pre-plated cuisine, at 1.15pm.
At the Inspire Conference, the ‘Gulfood Green Awards and Showcase’ will take place at 4pm.
