UAE: Police warn drivers against increasing window tint, may lead to a Dh1,500 fine
Most cars have tinted glass from the factory, which helps block off the heat and sun rays.
Due to the intense sun and intense heat, especially during the summer, window tinting is more common in the UAE than it is elsewhere.
The majority of cars are indeed factory-tinted, some by as much as 30%.
However, the law of the nation specifies specific tinting percentages that are permitted for each car, and breaking this guideline could result in a Dh1,500 punishment.
The authority kindly reminded drivers that it is not permitted to increase the tint on vehicles to 50% visibility. The glass on the windshield, side, and rear windows are all affected by this.
A Dh1,500 fine is imposed for breaking any of the following rules:
- Increasing the amount of window tinting above what is permitted by law.
- The act of painting a vehicle that is not permitted.
If your vehicle is sitting in the sun, do you put sunscreen on the windshield to keep it cool? Before you go behind the wheel, remember to properly remove it! The authority also included a warning that failing to do so is against the law and may result in punishment.
