The Arab Youth Centre (AYC) has launched the New Economy Program 2026, a training initiative that aims to help 400 young Arabs understand how technology, sustainability and creativity are reshaping work and business.
The first cohort of 100 participants began training today.
Delivered in partnership with the New Economy Academy (NEA), the programme runs online in Arabic across four cohorts throughout November. It draws young men and women from across the Arab world and links major economic shifts to decisions about careers, skills and entrepreneurship.
Training centres on how opportunities emerge, from digital platforms that help businesses and independent professionals reach customers to resource-efficient business models and the economic value of culture and creative content.
Four themes anchor the curriculum. The first covers the foundations of the new economy, including data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and financial innovation. The second looks at the platform and gig economies and their effect on labour markets. The third brings together the green and circular economies with the governance of AI, while the fourth explores the experience and creative economies.
Fatima Al Hallami, Executive Director of AYC, said investing in young people’s knowledge is essential to building more diverse and competitive Arab economies, and that the programme aims to help participants make informed career decisions and start businesses that meet community needs.
Each cohort completes eight hours of training over two days. The first ran on November 3 and 4, with others set for November 10 and 11, 17 and 18, and 24 and 25. Graduates will receive electronic certificates from AYC and NEA.
