Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Alibaba Cloud to help the city’s private sector adopt Agentic AI through training, startup support and enterprise deployment.
The agreement was signed during the Dubai Business Forum – China, organised by Dubai Chambers in Shenzhen. Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Chamber, and Dr. Feifei Li, Chief Technology Officer and President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, signed on behalf of their organisations. It supports an initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to accelerate the private sector’s shift towards Agentic AI, which Dubai Chambers oversees.
Cooperation will focus on three areas. The first is skills development through the Dubai Chambers Academy, including training content, certifications, technical workshops and train-the-trainer programmes. The second is startup support, covering technical mentorship, technology credits, compute resources and software licences, along with access to Alibaba Cloud programmes and networks. The third will explore enterprise pilots and production deployments, with proven solutions showcased through Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
Al Gergawi said international partnerships in Agentic AI help Dubai-based companies build capabilities, improve operations and create new business models. Eric Wan, General Manager of Middle East, Turkey and Central Asia at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said Agentic AI is moving from experimentation to everyday business use, and that early movers will set the pace for the digital economy.
Alibaba Cloud has served customers in the UAE since 2016 and operates two data centres in the region. The two parties will also develop case studies assessing business impact and commercial value.
