Art Dubai has unveiled the preliminary list of participants for its 2026 special edition, marking a milestone 20th year for the fair and reinforcing Dubai’s role as a global cultural hub.

The event will take place at Madinat Jumeirah from May 15 to 17, with a VIP preview scheduled for May 14.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the fair will feature over 75 presentations from commercial galleries, institutions, and cultural partners. Around 60 percent of participating galleries are drawn from the region, reflecting Art Dubai’s deep local roots alongside its global reach.

This year’s edition adopts a modified format that highlights the galleries and communities shaping the region’s art ecosystem. Organised in partnership with Dubai Culture and A.R.M. Holding, the event underscores collaboration between public and private sectors in supporting the creative economy.

The programme will span contemporary, modern, and digital practices, with a focus on both emerging and established artists. Alongside gallery presentations, visitors can expect large-scale installations, performances, screenings, and daily talks.

Key highlights include exhibitions from the Dubai Collection and the Barjeel Art Foundation, as well as the 20th edition of the Global Art Forum. Collaborations with institutions such as Sharjah Art Foundation and Art Jameel further expand the programme.

In response to industry challenges, Art Dubai will also introduce a risk-sharing model, allowing galleries to pay booth costs based on performance. The initiative reflects a broader effort to sustain the art market while fostering innovation and accessibility.
