Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has completed more than 7.4 million digital transactions between January and June 2026, underscoring the impact of its AI-driven digital transformation strategy.
DEWA became the first government entity and first utility worldwide to deliver services through artificial intelligence platforms, moving beyond conventional websites and smart applications. This shift has pushed digital adoption among customers to 99.5 percent by the end of June.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA's MD and CEO, said the authority continues to deploy advanced technologies in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He noted that the focus remains on governance, security and privacy, supporting a more integrated and human-centric digital infrastructure.
Al Tayer added that DEWA's culture of readiness has strengthened its ability to manage change and meet emerging demands, an approach recognised through the Hamdan Flag awarded to the authority in 2025 for excellence in proactive, customer-focused service delivery.
The transactions were spread across multiple channels. DEWA's website handled over 1.2 million transactions, while its smart app processed more than 2.8 million. Partner-supported platforms, built through DEWA's wider digital ecosystem, managed a further 3.4 million transactions.
That ecosystem now includes more than 115 integration projects carried out with 65 government and private-sector organisations, reflecting DEWA's efforts to expand collaborative digital services across Dubai.
According to Al Tayer, the results reinforce progress under the Services 360 Policy and support Dubai's broader ambition of becoming a global benchmark for efficient, reliable and future-ready digital government.
