DMCC has convened the seventh Dubai Diamond Conference, bringing together government officials and global industry leaders to chart a new direction for the natural diamond sector.

Held under the theme “Diamond 2.0: A Strategic Reset – Reigniting Desire, Unlocking New Value”, the event also featured a new education partnership, the unveiling of the Infinity diamond and the launch of the world’s first dedicated Dubai Cut boutique.

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, delivered the keynote, saying the UAE aims to build an integrated diamond ecosystem based on trade, value addition, innovation, trust and transparency. Botswana’s Minister of Minerals and Energy, Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, addressed delegates by video.

DMCC and ORIGINALLUXURY launched The Swiss Parallel, a report on how Swiss watchmaking built lasting consumer appeal and investment value. It outlines seven strategic moves for the diamond industry, including differentiation, authentication and new investment infrastructure. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, said reviving demand will require coordinated action from mine to retailer, including how the trade is financed.

Dubai recorded US$41.7 billion in diamond trade in 2025 across 359.5 million carats, with natural diamonds making up 95.8 percent of value. Natural rough diamond trade reached US$21.2 billion.

The Dubai Design Academy will partner with HRD Antwerp to deliver courses in diamond grading, gemmology and jewellery design, with graduates receiving internationally recognised diplomas.

The Infinity diamond, an 888.88-carat fancy black natural diamond from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was also unveiled. Dhamani Jewels Group announced the Dubai Cut – Dhamani Boutique, the first retail location dedicated to the Dubai Cut diamond.

The conference forms part of Dubai Diamond Week 2026, which includes Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai from October 27 to 29.
