Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has clinched the Sustainable Stand Award at Arabian Travel Market 2025, held at Dubai World Trade Centre, for its eco-conscious and data-driven exhibition design.
Recognised by an independent panel of industry judges, DET’s stand stood out for being constructed with 84 percent reused materials and 100 percent locally sourced sustainable resources. The design also achieved a 10 percent reduction in carbon emissions, highlighting Dubai’s growing commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
Further sustainability efforts included a seasonal, plant-based menu served in eco-friendly packaging, digital brochures accessed via QR codes to eliminate printing, and minimal giveaways limited to environmentally responsible items.
Other destinations were also acknowledged for their green initiatives, with Abu Dhabi and Qatar earning commendations for their sustainable approaches.
In additional award categories, Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism won Best Stand Design (over 150sqm) for its showcase of traditional crafts and cuisine. HeyTrip International secured the Best Stand Design (50–150sqm) for its vibrant and space-efficient layout, while FlyAkeed took the top spot in the under 50sqm category for its dynamic LED-driven display.
Kerzner International was named Best Stand for Doing Business, praised for its welcoming setup and functional layout. A.A. Al Moosa earned Best Use of Technology, and the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board won Best Stand Feature for its live cultural performances.
Exhibition Director Danielle Curtis praised the entries for their innovation in sustainability, hospitality, and design.
The 32nd edition of ATM is hosting more than 55,000 travel professionals from 166 countries, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for tourism and business.
