The Dubai Films and Games Commission has announced a headline partnership with the Good Game Club podcast, positioning Dubai at the centre of a growing global conversation on the positive impact of video games.

The partnership was unveiled at the GamesBeat Summit 2026 in Los Angeles, where Games Commissioner Faisal Kazim joined podcast hosts Jude Ower MBE and Mathias Gredal Nørvig for a panel discussion hosted by GamesBeat Editorial Director Dean Takahashi. A recording of the session will be released as a podcast episode on 22 May 2026.

Launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year, the Good Game Club podcast is co-hosted by Ower, Chief Strategy Officer at PlanetPlay, and Nørvig, CEO of SYBO. The show draws on their bestselling book Gaming For Good and brings together voices from gaming, culture, business, and policy. Tencent serves as the founding partner.

The collaboration reflects Dubai's broader ambition to become a global capital for the creative industries. The emirate is home to more than 350 gaming-related companies and has set targets to create 30,000 jobs in the sector and contribute $1 billion to GDP by 2033.

The announcement comes as the wider regional market accelerates. Gaming revenue across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt is projected to reach $2.8 billion by 2029, driven by a player base exceeding 84 million people.

Kazim described the partnership as part of a long-term strategy to attract studios and talent and to establish Dubai as a destination where creators can build their futures. Ower added that the commission's approach goes beyond industry investment, extending to the role gaming plays in shaping society and the creative landscape.
