Dubai Chamber of Commerce has concluded the first leg of a high-profile trade mission to Africa, facilitating 276 bilateral business meetings between Dubai-based companies and their counterparts in Accra as part of its ongoing push to open new markets for local firms.
The mission, conducted under the chamber's 'New Horizons' initiative, brought together representatives from 19 Dubai companies spanning sectors including automotive, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, electronics and construction materials.
Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, said the mission was aimed at building sustainable business partnerships and strengthening the competitiveness of Dubai's private sector.
"This trade mission opens new channels for dialogue and creates opportunities for companies operating in Dubai to explore expansion into the Ghanaian market,"
he said.
Alongside the bilateral meetings, the chamber hosted the 'Dubai-Ghana Business Connect' forum, which drew 532 participants including senior officials and business leaders from both countries. The event was supported by the UAE Embassy in Ghana, the Consulate General of Ghana in the UAE, the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
Forum speakers highlighted Dubai's position as a global business launchpad and Ghana's strategic role as a gateway to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The mission comes on the back of strong trade momentum. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Ghana reached AED 39.6 billion in 2025, a 60.1 percent year-on-year increase. As of Q1 2026, 225 Ghanaian companies hold active membership with the chamber, with 16 new members joining in the first quarter alone.
The trade mission continues with a second stop in Ethiopia.
