Dubai Municipality has opened a new 102-metre bridge at Mushrif National Park, creating a safer and more connected experience for mountain bikers and hikers at Dubai’s largest forest.

The new bridge connects previously separated sections of the park’s mountain biking trail, allowing riders to complete their journey without crossing a road used by vehicles. The development aims to improve safety while providing a smoother and more continuous route through the park’s natural surroundings.

The bridge features two dedicated lanes, with one reserved for mountain bikers and the other exclusively for hikers. Separating the two activities is expected to improve movement and safety across the wider trail network. The complete mountain biking journey across the bridge extends for 182 metres.

The project forms part of Dubai Municipality’s ongoing development of Mushrif National Park as a major destination for outdoor recreation, adventure and active lifestyles. It also responds to growing interest in mountain biking, hiking and other nature-based activities across Dubai.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the bridge provides an uninterrupted connection between two sections of the mountain biking trail, eliminating the need for cyclists to stop and cross a vehicle road.

He added that the municipality’s development plans for Mushrif National Park focus on creating an integrated destination where outdoor adventure, nature and active lifestyles come together.

The bridge has also been designed to complement the park’s natural environment while improving accessibility and connectivity.

As one of Dubai’s key green and recreational destinations, Mushrif National Park attracts families, cyclists, hikers, fitness enthusiasts and nature explorers. The latest addition supports Dubai’s wider efforts to encourage physical activity, community engagement and interaction with nature through high-quality public spaces.

The new mountain biking and hiking connection is now open, with users able to begin their journey from Mushrif Hub.
