Dubai Holding has acquired a 22.27% equity stake in Emaar Properties from the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), bringing its total shareholding to 29.73% and cementing its position as the developer's largest shareholder.

The transaction, announced jointly by both entities, marks a significant consolidation of ownership in one of the Middle East's most prominent real estate companies. Emaar Properties, listed on the Dubai Financial Market, holds a diversified portfolio spanning residential, commercial, hospitality and retail assets, with a presence across the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Europe.

For Dubai Holding, the move is a strategic bet on Emaar's long-term growth potential and the continued strength of Dubai's real estate market. The acquisition also deepens an already established partnership between the two organisations, which have collaborated across multiple joint ventures over the years.

Dubai Holding manages a global investment portfolio valued at over AED 500 billion across more than 30 countries, with interests in real estate, hospitality, entertainment, retail and media.

The deal reinforces the confidence major institutional players continue to place in Dubai's property sector, which has seen sustained demand and record transaction volumes in recent years.
