Dubai Municipality has opened registration for the 2026–2027 winter camping season in Al Ruwayyah, with expanded facilities, more activities and greater flexibility for UAE nationals.
The season runs from November 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027 and will accommodate 600 camps, an increase of about 120 percent on previous seasons.
Double-sized plots of up to 800 square metres return alongside standard 400-square-metre plots. For the first time, the Municipality has introduced 50 dedicated caravan plots and 10 fully equipped camps for daily rental, giving visitors a way to camp without setting up their own.
Ten spaces have been designated for winter events and gatherings, including family activities, community programmes and seasonal markets. The Municipality has also allocated investment opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises in food and beverage services, desert activities and recreational experiences.
Seasonal permit holders can design and equip their camps once permits are issued and plot boundaries are marked. Campers must install temporary fencing and use camps exclusively for family purposes and camping activities. Dedicated spaces are also set aside for participating government entities.
UAE nationals can register and reserve plots through wintercamp.dm.gov.ae and the DubaiNow app. Seasonal reservations run from three to six months, with separate booking options for caravan plots and daily rental camps.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the season is an important step in developing Al Ruwayyah as an integrated winter destination. He said the Municipality plans to keep adding diverse experiences and to create opportunities for local businesses to take part in the destination’s growth.
