Dubai Residential, owner and operator of one of the city’s largest and most diverse residential leasing portfolios, has announced a target to collectively clock one billion steps across its 21 communities as part of the 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC).
Delivered in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council, the initiative will bring more than 146,000 residents together behind a shared goal in support of DFC’s 30x30 challenge.
Running from October 31 to November 29, residents can track their daily steps through the fitze app, with every step counting towards the collective target. Dubai Residential will also host community fitness events in selected communities including Layan, Shorooq, Ghoroob and The Gardens, featuring yoga, Zumba, HIIT, sports challenges and family activities.
Top performers will share more than AED 30,000 in Dubai Retail gift cards. The top three participants overall will receive AED 5,000, AED 3,000 and AED 2,000 respectively, while the highest-performing resident in each of the 21 communities will win AED 1,000. Residents can also win from AED 1 million in rewards through the fitze app, including international trips, staycations, dining experiences and shopping vouchers.
Careem joins as rewards partner, offering the top five participants a 12-month Careem Plus membership and the next five a six-month membership. Talabat is a strategic partner and exclusive hydration partner at community events, where attendees will receive complimentary talabat Pro subscriptions.
Ahmad Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Residential, said resident wellbeing is central to creating thriving communities and the target brings that commitment to life at scale. Yaqoub Al Zarouni, Senior Manager of Dubai Fitness Challenge, said bringing residents across 21 communities behind one goal shows the power of collective participation.
Community activations will include Fruitful Day’s blender bikes, family activities from Zamania, HIIT sessions by MetroFitt, boxing by Power Boxing and yoga supported by Dubai Sports Council.
