Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) has signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement to acquire 100% of National Taxi LLC for an enterprise value of AED1.45 billion, in a move that would significantly consolidate its grip on the UAE's taxi market.

The deal, funded entirely through new bank debt facilities with no equity dilution, is expected to lift DTC's Dubai market share from 47% to roughly 59%, while also securing a 12% foothold in Abu Dhabi — a market the company has not previously held a formal presence in.

Group Chairman Abdul Muhsen Ibrahim Kalbat described the acquisition as a strategic milestone, noting that National Taxi's financial profile and operational quality make it a strong fit for DTC's long-term growth ambitions. He pointed to the UAE's continued strength in attracting investment, talent and visitors as the underlying driver of sustained mobility demand.

Group CEO Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi said the transaction is expected to be earnings accretive from the first full year of ownership, with additional upside anticipated through procurement optimisation, centralised maintenance and a phased integration approach.

National Taxi, which has operated in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for 26 years, ran a competitive sales process through Emirates NBD Capital and Lazard Gulf that drew interest from investors across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Managing Director Toufic Mitri confirmed DTC submitted the most compelling proposal.

The transaction is expected to close in early Q3 2026, pending regulatory approvals from the RTA and ITC. DTC is advised by Alvarez & Marsal and DLA Piper, while National Taxi is represented by Emirates NBD Capital, Lazard Gulf and White & Case LLP.
