Emirates NBD has entered a strategic partnership with Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) aimed at fast-tracking the adoption of FinTech and AI solutions across the bank's operations, marking another step in Dubai's push to become a global digital finance hub.
Under the agreement, both organisations will jointly source, test and roll out technology-driven solutions designed to improve the efficiency, quality and effectiveness of financial services for Dubai's citizens and residents.
DFDF, a AED 1 billion evergreen venture capital fund of funds backed by the Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Future Foundation, invests in startups shaping the future of finance and the wider economy. The partnership gives Emirates NBD access to a curated pipeline of enterprise-grade solutions from DFDF's portfolio companies, with scope for structured pilots and commercial deployment.
The move comes as the UAE's FinTech sector continues its rapid expansion, with market value projected to nearly double from USD 3.16 billion in 2024 to USD 5.71 billion by 2029. Emirates NBD's priority areas include AI-driven banking, embedded finance, digital assets, SME solutions, WealthTech and compliance technology.
Marwan Hadi, Group Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, said the collaboration would help deliver more personalised banking experiences, faster deployment of digital capabilities and stronger fraud detection, while also supporting national talent development through the bank's National Digital Talent Incubator (NDTI).
Nader Albastaki, Managing Director at DFDF, said the partnership gives high-potential startups a route to pilot opportunities and commercial deployment within Emirates NBD's ecosystem, reinforcing Dubai's ambitions in digital finance and entrepreneurship.
The announcement follows Emirates NBD's recent hosting of the NDTI Founders Summit 2026, which celebrated a new generation of Emirati fintech and digital entrepreneurs.
