Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and INDU Group have begun construction on a large-scale automotive logistics facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), marking a significant expansion of specialised supply chain infrastructure in the UAE.
The new hub, developed by INDU Logistics as part of INDU Group, will serve as a dedicated automotive node within Hellmann's Middle East network. Spanning nearly 300,000 sq. ft., the facility will feature high-density bin storage, pallet racking and specialised handling areas for oversized and bulky components, designed to support high-volume distribution across the GCC, Africa and beyond.
The development comes as demand for resilient, time-sensitive automotive supply chains intensifies across the region. Lee I'Ons, Regional CEO for IMEA at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, said the investment reflects the UAE's strategic importance within the company's global network and its commitment to building scalable, industry-focused infrastructure for long-term customer growth.
Abdulla Al Hashmi, Global Chief Operating Officer for Parks and Economic Zones at DP World, noted that the move aligns with the rapid pace of automotive sector growth in the Middle East, where businesses are increasingly seeking faster and more reliable access to critical spare parts across multiple markets.
Jafza's position as a regional trade gateway underpins the facility's appeal. The free zone offers direct access to Jebel Ali Port and multimodal connectivity linking Europe, Asia and Africa, making it a natural anchor for automotive logistics operations with broad distribution reach.
The groundbreaking adds to a growing ecosystem of automotive, logistics and trading companies based in Jafza, as the free zone continues to attract investment from global operators looking to strengthen their regional supply chain presence.
