The International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) and Al Rostamani Group have officially begun constructing state-of-the-art training and agricultural research facilities at ICBA’s Dubai headquarters.

This follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing agricultural capacity development.

The foundation stone ceremony was attended by key figures, including Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Marwan Abdulla Al Rostamani, Chairman of Al Rostamani Group, and Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi, ICBA’s Director General.

This collaboration, fully funded by Al Rostamani Group, will see the creation of a training center capable of accommodating 300 participants, equipped with modern halls for workshops and hands-on training. The research facilities will include an advanced laboratory for plant tissue culture and an integrated agri-aquaculture system.

Dr. Amna Al Dahak highlighted that the UAE aims to transition traditional agriculture into sustainable, climate-resilient systems. She welcomed the partnership, emphasizing its role in supporting food security through scientific innovation.

Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi remarked that the new facilities would significantly enhance ICBA’s research capabilities, aligning with the UAE's global sustainability goals. Marwan Al Rostamani underscored the project’s importance in advancing the UAE’s vision for environmental and agricultural sustainability.

This initiative positions ICBA as a global hub for agricultural research, focusing on climate-smart technologies and sustainable practices, essential for the UAE's long-term food security and environmental resilience.
