The UAE Ministry of Community Empowerment has unveiled a AED100 million NPO Empowerment Fund aimed at strengthening public benefit organisations and positioning them as key partners in driving national development priorities.
The fund is structured to support non-profit organisations at varying stages of growth. Newly established entities can access up to AED500,000 to build operational capacity, while established organisations may secure up to AED5 million to scale programmes and expand their impact.
The initiative forms part of the Volunteering and Community Engagement Ecosystem approved by the UAE Cabinet. It reflects a broader national strategy to enhance the role of the non-profit sector in delivering community-focused initiatives and supporting social development goals.
In its first funding cycle, priority will be given to projects that promote social stability, strengthen community cohesion, and provide targeted support to individuals and families. Key sectors include education, health and wellbeing, community development, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare.
Her Excellency Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, said the fund aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision to build a more resilient and united society. She emphasised the critical role of non-profit organisations in fostering social cohesion and advancing national priorities.
Applications will undergo a structured evaluation based on organisational capacity, impact potential, and financial feasibility. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to present their proposals.
The first application window is open until May 31, 2026, with eligible organisations invited to apply through the fund’s dedicated digital platform.
