Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced the opening of applications for the second year of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme.

Launched in 2024 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the initiative is designed to support exceptional Emirati students in pursuing higher education at top global universities.

The scholarship, a key component of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Education 33 strategy, offers 100 fully funded scholarships annually, each valued at AED 1.1 billion. It targets Emirati high school graduates, preparing them to become future leaders by providing access to world-class education.

In its inaugural year, the programme received a strong response, with all recipients securing spots at universities ranked among the top 200 globally. Notably, 15% of the first cohort enrolled in institutions ranked in the world’s top 20. Students pursued degrees in diverse fields such as technology, engineering, medicine, law, and finance, aligning with Dubai’s development priorities.

Dr. Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at KHDA, emphasized the programme’s role in equipping the next generation with global knowledge, fostering a dynamic and sustainable future for Dubai.

Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are open from May 8 to June 30, 2025. Eligible Emirati students can apply through the “Emirati” section on the Dubai Now app. Further details are available on the KHDA website.
