How did you initially come up with the idea or concept for the business?
In 1979 I established the Dubai Music School. Back in the day, many people would come up to me and ask me teach them music. There was a great need for a music school. There was no music school. And so I founded the Dubai Music School with the main objective to share my knowledge with my students.
Tell us about some of the major turning points in the history of your business.
The very first one I remember was when my father died in 2002. My whole world fell apart. Then I was struck by another tragedy. My mother died in 2009. I was devastated. Then soon in 2010 my youngest brother died. But each time I was down I picked myself up and moved forward. One year ago I was struck by a massive brain stroke. I almost died. My whole left side was and is still paralyzed. I was in the hospital for 22 days. But everyday in the hospital I played my guitar. Music healed me. Music is therapeutic. Music brings joy and happiness to the soul. Music is the greatest medicine.
