The UAE Ministry of Education has confirmed that all students and staff across public and private schools will return to in-person learning starting Monday, April 20, 2026, marking a significant step toward full academic normalcy.

The decision applies to nurseries, kindergartens, and schools nationwide, covering enrolled children, teaching staff, and administrative personnel. Authorities said the move follows the successful completion of readiness plans across institutions, including facility upgrades, staff training, and updated safety protocols.

Officials stressed that these measures are designed to create a secure and reassuring environment for students and their families as campuses fully reopen.

Private schools will retain the option to adopt a hybrid rotational model if required. This flexibility will be governed by approved regulations and overseen by local education authorities, allowing institutions to adapt based on their operational readiness.

The Ministry also clarified that schools using hybrid systems must manage staffing carefully. Teachers should not be assigned to deliver both in-person and remote lessons simultaneously, a measure intended to maintain education quality and ensure manageable workloads.

While in-person learning resumes, schools are expected to remain prepared to shift to alternative learning models if necessary. Authorities said this approach ensures continuity of education while maintaining the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances.
