The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) unveiled the UAE Design System 2.0 (DLS 2.0) for Federal Government Websites, supported by the Higher Committee for Government Digital Transformation.

This system aims to optimize user experience by providing user-friendly designs aligned with customer preferences and incorporating the latest advancements. TDRA conducted a workshop engaging various government entities to elucidate the system's principles, foundations, and implementation methods, targeting directors of corporate communications, IT departments, and IT project managers.

Leadership and excellence

Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and The Future, and Chairwoman of the Higher Committee for Government Digital Transformation, emphasized the significance of UAE Design System 2.0 in advancing the 'We the UAE 2031' vision, promoting dynamism, agility, and future foresight. This system, tailored to local nuances, elevates the federal government's digital presence, aiming to enhance customer experiences and global leadership.

Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, TDRA Director-General, highlighted the importance of coordination among government entities for digital transformation success, emphasizing the customer-centric approach of DLS 2.0 to streamline navigation and improve accessibility to government services.

Mohammad Al Zarooni, TDRA Deputy Director-General for the Information and Digital Government Sector, underscored the pillars of simplicity and creativity in the system, aiming to prioritize user experience, adaptability, and flexibility across ministries and federal entities.

Following its launch, DLS 2.0 swiftly gained adoption by various government entities, including the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and Ministry of Health and Prevention. It's open for use by semi-governmental bodies and other national departments, promoting adherence to industry best practices.

This implementation promises heightened government efficiency by offering reusable components for website development, resulting in cost and time savings while reducing bureaucracy. It fosters transparency and community involvement, aligning with the UAE's federal brand for consistent visual identity and ensuring compliance with global accessibility standards.
