Dubai Chambers held a series of high-level meetings in Addis Ababa this week, targeting stronger trade and investment ties between Dubai and Ethiopia as part of a broader trade mission across Africa.
The delegation, led by Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, met with key Ethiopian government bodies and economic institutions to identify areas of mutual growth and private sector collaboration.
At the Ministry of Industry, represented by Minister Melaku Alebel, both sides discussed expanding industrial cooperation, boosting trade exchange, and creating new avenues for joint investment. The conversation underscored the importance of deepening private sector partnerships between the two economies.
Dubai Chambers also met with the Ethiopian Investment Commission, where Deputy Commissioner Zinabu Yirga joined discussions on attracting foreign investment and showcasing the advantages each market offers to international companies and investors.
A separate meeting with Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Africa's largest sovereign wealth fund, focused on building long-term partnerships that could unlock new economic opportunities for businesses and investors on both sides. The fund's Deputy CEO, Meleket Sahlu, represented the institution.
The Addis Ababa engagements are part of a wider trade mission led by Dubai Chamber of Commerce covering Ethiopia and Ghana, with the aim of helping Dubai-based companies tap into high-potential African markets.
