Dubai Health has rolled out two new youth initiatives aimed at shaping the next generation of healthcare innovators, reinforcing the emirate's push to align talent development with national youth priorities.
The programmes, "Dream-It, Dubai-It" and the Summer Training programme, were unveiled at Emirates Towers in a ceremony attended by senior government figures including Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary-General of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Saeed Mohammed Al Eter, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Projects. Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, also attended alongside other officials.
"Dream-It, Dubai-It" targets children aged 10 to 13 and runs for two weeks, introducing young participants to medical robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and virtual reality through hands-on workshops and site visits. This summer's cohort includes 50 children from 10 nationalities, all encouraged to design solutions for future health challenges.
The Summer Training programme takes a different approach, offering a four-week immersive experience for students from Grade 11 through university level. Participants gain direct exposure to Dubai Health's facilities and departments, working on supervised projects that build professional, interpersonal and communication skills while engaging with real healthcare operations.
Dr. Sharif said the initiatives reflect leadership's vision to empower youth as changemakers, noting that Dubai Health aims to give young people meaningful learning opportunities and firsthand insight into its integrated academic health system.
He added that exposing participants to emerging technologies and diverse disciplines supports the development of a new generation of talent capable of driving innovation in global health.
Both programmes support the National Youth Agenda 2031 and reflect the UAE's broader commitment to preparing young people for future leadership roles across critical sectors.
